Mapping custom domain
-
Hello,
I purchased a custom domain through GoDaddy (unabashedlyobsessed.com) and am trying to link it so that my WordPress blog (unabashedlyobsessed.wordpress.com) forwards to it. I understand that I have to pay for this service but when I try to set it up I’m only given the option to pay $99/year, which is way more than I want to spend.
Is there a way to link my domain and my blog that it’s going to cost me $99, and that doesn’t come with a bunch of other stuff I don’t want or need? I see that there’s a $35/year option but even that has more stuff attached to it than I want, and the ‘map a domain’ page doesn’t give me the option for it anyway.
Alternately, is there a way I can actually contact WordPress itself? All I can find is how to post in the forums, which is fine but isn’t really what I need. I need to contact wordpress itself but their ‘contact us’ link only sends me to the forums.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello
To map a domain to WordPress.com you need a paid plan. And the cheapest paid plan available is Personal, which is priced at $35/year.
There’s more about mapping domains here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
Hope this helps

Hi,
As @thamarakandabada mentioned, you need a paid plan in order to map a domain you already own, to your WordPress.com site.
The Personal plan includes a domain credit which you can can use to map a domain you already own (or register a new one).
Alternately, is there a way I can actually contact WordPress itself?
If you have any other questions, I’ll be happy to answer them!
