Mapping Custom Domain
-
I’m trying to add the custom domain “missionpossiblelondon.ca” but I’m getting the following error “This domain is already mapped to a WordPress.com site.”
Nameserver information seems to be correct set. Any ideas?

Hi missionpossiblelondon2017,
I’m trying to add the custom domain “missionpossiblelondon.ca” but I’m getting the following error “This domain is already mapped to a WordPress.com site.”
missionpossiblelondon.ca is owned by another WordPress.com account. Do you own the domain?
There are no sites owned by the account you are logged in to, so which site do you wish to use the domain for?
Thanks!

missionpossiblelondon.ca is owned by another WordPress.com account. Do you own the domain?
Yes, we own the domain. We should be able to login and transfer the domain from the other account to this one then?

Hi missionpossiblelondon2017,
We should be able to login and transfer the domain from the other account to this one then?
Yes, that’s right. As long as you are a site Administrator, the current owner can transfer ownership of the domain to you. These steps will guide them through the process:

Do you want to continue using the domain on the current site? Or would you like to use it for another WordPress.com site?

We purchased the domain through cira.ca so I’m confused as to how it currently belongs to another wordpress.com site. Would you guys be able to aid in attaching it to our missionpossiblelondonblog.wordpress.com site?

Hi missionpossiblelondon2017 –
The domain is owned by a different WordPress.com user account and it is registered through WordPress.com. To access this domain, you’ll need to sign in to the missionpossiblelondon account.
