Mapping Domain Name

I recently purchased a domain name on 123 reg. I now want to start a website on wordpress, I understand I can use this domain name by mapping it on wordpress. Can this only be done with an annual subscription? If so is the ‘personal’ subscription sufficient or does it have to be ‘premium’? Also if I map my domain name, will wordpress hang .wordpress.com onto my domain name or is it just the domain name I’ve selected elsewhere?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello @lukasbinder
You can map your domain by upgrading to the Personal plan.

Every upgrade(even the personal plan) contains a free domain credit which you can use to map your domain to your wordpress.com site/blog.

Also if I map my domain name, will wordpress hang .wordpress.com onto my domain name or is it just the domain name I’ve selected elsewhere?

When you map your domain, the ‘.wordpress.com‘ address should automatically redirect to your mapped custom domain. But if it doesn’t you can follow this official support guide to set your custom domain as your primary domain so that the ‘.wordpress.com‘ address redirects to your mapped domain.

    Hope this helps 🙂
