Mapping Domain Name & Links

    I have a complex navigation setup and many, many links on my wordpress.com website that link to other pages and media files within my site.
    I’d love to map the wordpress.com site to a domain name i have bought, but worried in doing so will break many years worth of links.

    Can anybody advise if the mapping process within wordpress, will keep all my navigation, links and media files intact. My site is highly pictorial. Thanks.

    Hi @paulveverka, mapping a domain does not change any of the links on your site.

    It can affect links outside your site, though. Facebook counts, for example, may be reset. We use a 301 redirect to send folks from the old address to the new one.
