Mapping domain on free wordpress site

    I have been pointing my personal domain name to my free wordpress site for years. Now WordPress is telling me I need to purchase a paid plan in order to have access to the Domain Mapping option. Is there still a way of paying 17$ per year to simply point a personal domain name to my free WordPress site?

    Stand alone upgrades were discontinued over a year ago. Now we need to register a plan and the price has changed.

    You can use the Personal Plan, yes, but you need to add the plan first. If you add the domain first, Premium is selected automatically.

    Go to My Site ->Plans and buy the Personal Plan, and then you can go back and claim your free domain at My Site ->Domains ->Add.
