Mapping domain to my wordpress website

  Hey
  I have bought a domain externally on domain.com to use with my wordpress site. I don’t wise to buy a wordpress annual membership however, as I cannot afford the monthy payments. Is there is any other way I can organise mapping a web address to my wordpress site for a cheaper fee, can this be organised as a separate deal with wordpress?
