Mapping Google Domain to WordPress — Please Help
-
Hi all–
So I know this wasn’t the smartest thing, but I first bought my domain name (hedgenomics) through Google Apps. Google Apps used GoDaddy to fulfill the request.
I then registered and verified I own the domain name via a text insertion with the DNS.
Now I registered for a blog (hedgenomics.wordpress.com) and want to map my domain that I currently own with Google Apps to the blog and content that I will be posting here.
I understand I need to upgrade to map the account and by doing so change the nameservers to match WordPress’. But when I login to GoDaddy via the Google Apps account it seems as though the first two nameservers are locked in/not editable. Am I doing something wrong?
What can I do? Any insight would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve tagged this for staff attention and hopefully someone will be around shortly to help out.

I think I am in the same boat, so I offer not help, just sympathy and hope that someone will rescue us.
I belong to an organization that had a website created of it. Registration of the domain for the sight and hosting are with go daddy. The URL for the sight is orrsislandlibrary.org.
I build a new sight for the organization in wordpress using a different URL. Now I want to use the domain name orrsislandlibrary.org and have it map to my oillibrarycom.com. which I have upgraded to from oillibrarycom.wordpress.com.
I have added orrsislandlibrary.org as a domain and my domain information says it should be directed to my primary site oillibrarycom.com It is not.
I guess the problem is with the redirection of the go daddy site, but I’m not sure, and if it is I don’t know what to do.

You can map your domain to your WordPress.com blog following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
Your domain is your property, so if you can’t change your nameservers, I recommend contacting them to find out why they won’t allow you to control your own property.
