mapping .jp domain

  I want to map my domain to the WP blog I have. My domain is a .jp domain, as I live in Japan. Would that be a problem in
  a) mapping the .jp domain
  b) using a .jp domain with Google application for emails?

  Any advise would be appreciated

  If you go here, http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/register-domain/ , you will see the following:

  Note that only .com, .org, and .net domains can currently be registered through WordPress.com. If you wish to use another type of domain, you will need to register it at another registrar and then map the domain to your blog.

  I would verify it with staff at http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ but the above seems to indicate that you can as long as you register the domain name with someone other than wordpress.COM.

  You can use a .jp domain on your WordPress.com blog and with Google Apps for email. You’ll have to register it elsewhere first, then buy the Domain Mapping upgrade on your blog.

  Some international registrars require us to do some magic first. If you run into a problem at your registrar when trying to set your nameservers, contact WordPress.com support.
