Mapping multiple wordpress domain names to one domain
-
I’d like to re-map my current blog to a new domain name without losing current subscribers or people who may have it bookmarked. I know the new domain name, and assume I’d have to purchase it. To clarify:
-I currently have thedroidyourelookingfor.wordpress.com
-I’d like to create XYZ.com (for instance) and have any old traffic to “thedroidyourelookingfor.wordpress.com” re-direct to the new XYZ.com.Ideally, I’d really rather not lose content from thedroidyourelookingfor.wordpress.com, either. i.e. when people visit the new XYZ.com, I’d like all of the same info from the old blog to appear there. Is this something that can be done quickly and easily? I’d imagine there’s a help topic for it somewhere but I’m not really sure what I’m looking for.
Thank you in advance!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s exactly what domain mapping is. :)
You can start by adding the domain via Upgrades -> Domains in your blog’s Dashboard.

Perfect. I’m almost there (or may be as “there” as I’m going to get).
Is it possible to have my new domain name appear in the address bar when visitors come to my blog? I tried making the new one- tdylf.com- the primary domain but since it’s empty, it showed up with nothing.
Thank you again!

Yep, you’re almost there. You just need to set it as your primary domain via Upgrades -> Domains in your Dashboard.
It can take domain changes up to 72 hours (though usually much less) to propagate to your ISP, which is probably why it looks empty to you. Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your ISP refreshes their DNS cache.
