mapping my blog to a domain name
-
I am reading this article now (http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/) and it says:
“When you sign up for a WordPress.com blog, you’ll get a URL like andy.wordpress.com, or you can map a domain like myblog.com.”
my question is, how can I map my blog to a domain name (provided that I have domain name). Is this something to do with WP.com (change the configuration/settings) or I need to go to the company that gave me the domain name and do the mapping there?
Thanks a lot.

Domain mapping is an upgrade.
On WordPress.com, you can use a custom domain for your blog (such as saltgypsy.com) instead of the default address you get when you sign up (like saltgypsy.wordpress.com). This is called Domain Mapping, and it’s a paid upgrade:
Registering a .com, .org, or .net domain through WordPress.com and mapping that domain to your blog starts at $18.00 per domain and per year, or $25.00 per domain and per year for a .me domain. For $8.00 more, you can also make the domain registration private.
Mapping a domain you already own costs $13.00 per domain, per year. This article has more information:
