Mapping my current wordpress domain / template to separate domain/hosting
-
Hi WordPress,
I recently purchased the Grid Space template for my WordPress domain, thevintagexplorer.wordpress.com. Now I’d like to nix the “wordpress.com” part and use the domain and hosting service that I bought and registered with GoDaddy. How do I “map” my new domain to the thevintagexplorer.wordpress.com site? Do I need to transfer the template over to my new domain or just map it?Appreciate the help and look forward to hearing from someone soon.

Hi Lauren,
Your site (including the Gridspace theme you purchased) are hosted here at WordPress.com, so you don’t need any hosting service from GoDaddy for this site. To use your domain with the WordPress.com site, you can map it by following this guide:
That way, your site here at WordPress.com will be accessible when someone visits your domain. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

Thank you Rachel. So, just to confirm:
I can map my current blog on WordPress, thevintagexplorer.wordpress.com to this domain that I just purchased:
thevintagexplorer.com? I don’t want to have the wordpress.com part in there anymore.Thanks,

Hi Lauren,
Yep! If you map your domain thevintagexplorer.com to your WordPress.com blog at thevintagexplorer.wordpress.com, you’ll see your domain thevintagexplorer.com whenever you visit your blog (instead of the free address ending in .wordpress.com).
Just let me know if I can do anything more to help with that.
