mapping my domain
-
does my wordpress.com blog still show up in the reader if I map the blog to my website?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

does it have the black bar across. I understand you can put any website in a WordPress.com reader and “follow it” but if you map a domain are you still apart of the wordpress.com community? A lot of blogs that do not have the WordPress.com domain doesn’t have the follow option.
Also if you map a domain is it hosted free at wordpress.com
this website has a non wordpress domain but is a part of the community.

The black bar is what a WordPress.com user sees when they are logged into their account:

As long as your content is hosted with WordPress.com, it will be treated as a WordPress.com site and can utilize the WordPress.com community. To review the ways that visitors can follow a WordPress.com site, please review the following support document:

Yes, hosting is always free at WordPress.com.

Thanks, I just mapped my domain and it is working.
When someone types in creativepeoplenyc.com it is forwarded to the wordpress hosted site and the address bar reads:
https://creativepeoplenyc.wordpress.com/, is there anyway for it to just say creativepoplenyc.com? Thanks -
You just need to update your site’s Primary Domain here:

@auxclass Thank you for the assistance.
@nhuando It appears that your domain’s name servers have been recently changed. Your Domain Mapping Upgrade is active and correctly associated with creativepeoplenyc.wordpress.com, but creativepeoplenyc.com’s name servers have been pointed away from WordPress.com:
http://who.is/whois/creativepeoplenyc.com
If you’d still like to use this domain with your WordPress.com site, please point its name servers back to WordPress.com:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
Then, ensure that your site’s Primary Domain is set to creativepeoplenyc.com, and that you’ve cleared your browser’s cache and cookies:
https://creativepeoplenyc.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains
Keep in mind, changes such as these may take up to 48 hours to become effective.
