mapping my domain name I purchased from Bluehost

    I already own my domain name and I want to map it to my wordpress. I am getting reading many different stories about how this works and what the cost is. I see on the personal page that it includes custom domain name. Can I map my already purchased domain name with that plan level. Also, why would my rate be 2.99 a month but my husband’s wordpress be offered the same plan for 1.32 a month?

    Absolutely! You will need a paid WordPress.com plan — all paid plans include a domain credit which can be used to map a domain you already own (or register a new one):

    Add the plan you like the look of your cart and then choose the domain mapping option.

    Your husband may have had credits on his account and it’s also possible he purchased it at a time when the cost was lower.

    Hi there,

    The Personal plan gives you a domain credit which you can use to either register a new domain or map a domain you already own.

    As for the discounted option on your husband’s account, that’s something only the support staff can tell you more about. Some have already notified them, so they’ll reply to you here shortly.
