I keep getting a bill for 13 British pounds to map my Bravenet domain to WordPress. Is that right?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

I don’t see any domain upgrades in your account, but it’s possible that you bought it under a different username.

Do you have another username on WordPress.com? And what is the actual domain/site URL?

Hi, I’ve had my domain name from Bravenet for many years.

    Janismccurry.com

I was a member of a WordPress blog group and have one account name.

When I went to route the Bravenet domain to WordPress so I could create a website, I got the message about it costing British pounds to map.

  • That domain is not mapped to any site on WordPress.com, and as I said there are no upgrades showing in your account.

If the charge is definitely showing from WordPress.com on your credit card statement, please enter details on the charge at the following page:

    https://wpchrg.com/

On that page is also a link where you can contact us privately should it not have an answer for you. Then we can get more information from you to try and find the charge.

My fault for not clarifying. The message “asks” for me to put in my cc info to pay. I do not comply as I didn’t know there was supposed to be a charge for mapping. No harm done or charge to my cc.

My question was “is there supposed to be a charge to map an off-Wordpress site domain name?”

    Sorry.

  • To connect a domain you already own to a site on WordPress.com is a paid upgrade, yes. You can find more info on our domain mapping upgrade here:
