mapping or transferring domain

  I am trying to decide is it better to transfer my domain or map it to word press. how can i decided the best option

  @vlnett7 it’s up to you.

  You’ll need a plan to map the domain or transfer it here.

  If you map it, you will still need to keep the registration renewed with the current registrar.

  If you transfer it here, you’ll add one free year to its registration, then you’ll pay us each year to renew it. Another upside is that your billing will be in one place.

  It depends on your personal preference and pricing – it’s probably cheaper in the long run to pay WordPress.com for the domain renewal directly instead of paying your original registrar for the domain plus $13/year to map it to WordPress.com. There’s also less of a chance you’ll have an issue with payment down the road with all your billing in one place! I’ve had domains expire and not realized it because my card expired, didn’t get the email, etc. Hope this helps!
