Mapping our domain

    Trying to replace our old website with a more modern site. We want to map our already used domain and update with the business level site. If we do choose to map it, when will our current site be replaced with word press? We want to keep our current site online until we have completed our new word press site design.

    So you already have a website hosted somewhere else, but you want to move to WordPress.com?

    You can go ahead and purchase the Business Plan for your site here and start adding the content that you want while still leaving the current site active at your domain. Only when you are ready to launch the site on our side do you then add the domain mapping upgrade to your plan and change the domain’s name servers at your domain registrar.

    The current site will keep working for as long as you keep paying your web host and keep the domain pointed to them, and you don’t need the domain pointed here to work on your site here – you can work on your site using the free WordPress.com address for now.
