Mapping Owned Domain Name & Premium Upgrade

  WordPress Customer Support Centre:

  I’ve just purchased a domain from godaddy.com because searching here on WordPress showed the domain as “unavailable”. I was going to use the domain here at WordPress to start a site, probably with the upgrade package. This package shows a free domain name but there is a $17.00 mapping charge if the person already owns the domain they are registering.

  I was told by a friend (who has been at WordPress for several years) that your premium package would cost me $99.00 plus one free domain registration. I see from your site that this package is $129.00 a year, not $99.00.

  Also, do I need to do something with godaddy.com to transfer my domain to WordPress or does WordPress do that for me? I need to know the total yearly costs for moving my domain to WordPress (I can compare prices better if I know the total costs) and the steps I need to take to use my domain name here. Thank you in advance for your patience, help & understanding.
