mapping /subdirectory error

  Hi
  I have an existing website and I uploaded wordpress to it as a subdirectory. I have a theme uploaded which I intend to be a replacement for the existing site in the future. I did this because I want to keep my google rankings intact. I mapped the website address but cannot access the /wp subdirectory. I have read now that WP does not allow subdirectory mapping. Is there any way I can work on this or is there a workaround? TIA, Charlie

  ..if I have to pay another €13 for the /wp one its not the end of the world..if I can do that.
