mapping to a domain I own
-
when I map to a new domain I already own, do I have to include http:// or www?
Trying to redirect my blog/site from cobrion14wordpress.com to djbp.courts.state.va.us
browser says, site not found. Do I just need to give it a few hours/days?
Do I just need to give it more time
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there —
Since you’re mapping a subdomain (djbp.courts.state.va.us) and not a full domain (courts.state.va.us), you’ll have to set up a CNAME record with your domain registrar, Neustar, in order to get things working.
It looks like your domain’s CNAME record is not correctly configured yet as seen here:

Thank you. My tech support person here says it would work if I tried mapping to djbp, without courts.state.va.us. Can I do that without paying another $13?

Hello —
You don’t have to pay for Domain Registration since you already own the domain. However, you do you have to pay for Domain Mapping ($5) so we can map your subdomain to your blog, although seems you just cancelled this. Domain Mapping plus the CNAME record I mentioned before should solve it. Can I help you get this set up again, or are you working on a different domain now?

Hi — I’m sorry, but after further review, it seems that I misspoke. The Domain Mapping is $13 — not $5 as I said before. Please let me know if I can give you a hand with your blog.
