Mapping to an owned domain

Hi I’m just trying to map my free domain site to an owned (.com) domain and it is saying that the domain was recently in use and I need to contact support

You can’t map your GoDaddy site https://monkeygullyresearch.com/ to a free WordPress.com site. You need to purchase an upgraded plan first.

Hi it’s monkeygully.com – I have already purchased the wordpress .com upgrade but had mistakenly linked this to another account name which needed to be changed so it would pick up my new email address etc.
In sorting out the problem with the online team they advised me to create a new free account and start again. Unfortunately once I did that the monkeygully.com account dropped out as did my link to the online team!
So at least now it’s taking me through to the pay again link but I would prefer not to pay again for the same thing :>

I am trying to map monkeygullyresearch.wordpress.com back to monkeygullyresearch.com (which was set up and paid for a month or so ago via wordpress), but I am getting this message:
This domain was recently in use by someone else and is not available to map yet. Please try again later or contact support.
When I tried yesterday it did go to the next step but asked for payment again before I went further.
Can someone help at the back end to reconnect the site to the .com domain?

Sorry for the delay.
The domain mapping for that domain was cancelled on 27 April by the username, chasspain63, who had originally bought it. It will be two weeks before anyone else will be able to add mapping for that domain.
It is also normal that the system will ask you to pay for the mapping, as domain mapping is a paid upgrade. chasspain63 cancelled the original mapping upgrade, meaning you’ll need to purchase a new mapping upgrade and plan to add the mapping back. The chasspain63 account cancelled the original upgrades two months after they were purchased, so it’s not possible to refund those payments any more.
At this point it’s still possible for me to restore chasspain63’s plan and mapping upgrade, and then I can transfer those over to your account, but I’ll need chasspain63 to reply to this thread to give me permission to do so.

Hi thanks Kokkieh – if you could transfer the mapping and upgrade across from chasspain63 to the (email visible only to moderators and staff) account that would be great.
Unfortunately when I originally tried to do this I lost access to the .com domain and the online help access dropped out as well.
I think the technical person assisting at the time wasn’t then able to advise me. -

Thanks for confirming from the correct account. I’ve restored the premium plan and domain mapping and transferred them to the other account, so all should be good now.
