Mapping Using cPanel
-
I’m having difficulty mapping my “___.com” to show my “___.wordpress.com. I use GoDaddy for managing my domain and cPanel for hosting.
I added the bottom 3 DNS addresses when editing the zone record of the Nameserver.
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMI added them under both “Host” and “Points to.” Is that wrong?
The TTL is also 1 hour, but I don’t even really know what that means.
To be honest, I’m quite inexperienced with this and would appreciate any help!
WordPress still says that the DNS needs to be updated for my mapping!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. What is the URL of the domain you’re trying to map? Also, have you bought the domain mapping upgrade from your WordPress.com dashboard?
Lastly, you can check the instructions for mapping a GoDaddy domain here to make sure you followed all the steps: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-popular-domain-providers

The instructions you linked helped! Thanks!
I mapped http://www.thelatesthoop.com to show what I blogged on http://www.thelatesthoop.wordpress.com. But the domain still says “www.thelatesthoop.wordpress.com.” How can I get it just to say “www.thelatesthoop.com?”

Oops, No Primary Site Set
There is no primary domain set for thelatesthoop.wordpress.com. This means that although thelatesthoop.com will forward to the site, thelatesthoop.com will appear in the browser address bar. To learn more about setting a primary domain, please see our documentation.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/#setting-the-primary-domainre: mapping an existing domain
WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers but mapping an existing domain is possible.Domain mapping of an existing domain URL that you already own and purchased elsewhere is not done free of charge. You will have to renew the domain name purchase where you made, it and the domain mapping purchase here, each and every year.
Mapping an existing domain costs $13. annually .
In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com sub-domain blog to map from and it does not matter what that underlying .wordpress.com URL is. It does not have to match the domain URL.
If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the WordPress.COM blog, and as you own a domain URL already, you can see here for mapping an existing domain. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
It can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

I just checked and it’s now showing the correct domain. If you still don’t see it, give it another day or so, and try clearing your browser cache.
Let us know if you need more help with this.
