Mapping VS Transfer

  Hi,

  I am creating a new business and would like to better understand the difference betwen mapping and transferring a domain.

  Please advise.

  Are you intending to build a site here at WordPress.com? Do you already own a domain that you purchased elsewhere? If you want to use that domain with a WordPress.com site then either option will work if you purchase a plan here. As long as you have owned the domain for more than 60 days you can transfer it to a WordPress.com site. Or you could continue to pay for the domain where it is and map it to a WordPress.com site.
