Mapping vs. transferring

  Hi, I have a domain from Google. Please can to provide me with the pros/cons of having the domain mapped vs. transferred?

  Hi brigittanord5576,

  Mapping creates a connection between the domain and WordPress.com. The domain itself will remain registered with Google and need to be renewed through them each year:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  Transferring the domain from Google to WordPress.com means it will be registered and renewed through us each year. This option would be better if you want to manage the site and domain through one account:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/

  Both of these options are a feature of paid plans (Personal, Premium and Business).
