Mapping wordpress domain to squarespace

Hi, I have brought my domain through wordpress and designed my website on squarespace. I am trying to following instructions to map my wordpress domain to my squarespace website. I am following these instructions:
I am able to successfully change the CNAMEs but when I try to change the A records I get the below message;
‘This record cannot be added, as it conflicts with an existing WordPress.com record’
I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to resolve this?

Hi – Yes I did.
The problem was basically that I had no A records to change as the domain wasn’t actually pointing anywhere at the time as i had never used it before. I contacted Squarespace and they got back to me very quickly. I have looked though my inbox to try to find the reply from them, I found the below;
‘It looks like you have the default A record and CNAME record in your settings still. You can go ahead and remove these existing records in order to set up your new records.
If these are the only records in your DNS settings, then you can go ahead and remove those two records and keep the Nameserver record as is. From there, you should be able to add the appropriate Squarespace values in order to get this domain linked.’
Not sure if that helps at all – if you are with Squarespace contact them, they are so helpful!
