MapPress Plugin
-
Hi!
We have loved being able to use wordpress.com, but there is one feature that we desperately need to get added to our site. We would like to be able to use the mappress plug in that is available for wordpress.org, but we do not want to switch to wordpress.org altogether. Is there any way we can get the map on our “Vibrant Communities in Action” page to be hosted on our site instead of linked to another? Ideally we would be able to use mappress or perhaps embed that map to our site instead of linking it. We have thought about using the regular google maps, but the quality is insufficient. Again, we really appreciate the great service!
Thanks,

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we bloggers cannot install any plugins.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/There is no upgrade you can purchase that changes anything at all stated here http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
FTP access, plugins and third party themes are available only for VIP bloggers http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/ or for those with WordPress.ORG installs.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate. if you require plugins then you must hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install. http://wordpress.org/
