Margin Size in Twenty Fourteen Theme

  Wondering how I can expand the margins in my site. there is a lot of white space that I don’t want to have but cannot figure out how to get rid of it.

  On the top there is a padding of 72px which can be changed in this rule:

  @media screen and (min-width: 846px){
  .content-area, .content-sidebar {
  padding-top: 72px;
  }
  }

  For the sides, try changing the max width % in the following rule:

  .site-content .entry-header, .site-content .entry-content, .site-content .entry-summary, .site-content .entry-meta, .page-content {
  margin: 0 auto;
  	max-width: 100%;
  }
