Markdown not working

  I have followed the instructions for enabling Markdown found here https://en.support.wordpress.com/markdown/ for the WordPress site https://ccsslcubs.wordpress.com. But when I try to use Markdown in writing posts, it takes every special character literally, as if Markdown isn’t enabled. It appears that it only supports HTML and WYSIWYG. How do I get Markdown to work?

  Hey there Joe,

  I checked your settings and Markdown is currently not enabled.

  I just enabled and tested markdown on a post under your account – it is working just fine on my end.

  So, all you will need to do is click on the link to your settings, click that you want to enable markdown, save the settings – and you should be able to create a post/page using markdown.
