Markdown support

  Hi I’m using a wordpress hosted site and I can’t seem to activate markdown support for my posts. I’ve tried following the instructions at https://en.support.wordpress.com/markdown/
  but the checkbox isn’t there in my settings. Do I need a paid account to get markdown support or am I doing something wrong?

  Use the classic editor please as the new one does not provide markdown support. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/editor-feedback?replies=749

  You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it.   On the dashboard of your own blog at
  Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
  To create posts in the classic editor for you that link is

  http://welshgiant.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php

  On the dashboard of your own blog at
  Dashboard > Posts > All Posts one can hover over any post title and click the Edit link. and proceed with editing.
