I’m using MarsEdit with my blog and it wont let me log in to post or see my pages/posts. I tried to do the Two Step Authentication and it didn’t work.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When logging in using an external application with 2 Step Authentication, you have to have already generated an application-specific password within your account settings:
Have you already done so, and was that the password you were trying to log in using? Let me know!

I had tried that, is the username the same as my log in for wordpress? I had tried to input my wordpress password and then tried the two-step authentication and neither worked.
I named the app MarsEdit and the password was [REDACTED].
Do i need to input the Html username and password when using a wordpress.com host?

This might actually be a question for the folks over at Red Sweater (the creators of Mars Edit). First I would ask and make sure that their product is compatible with WordPress.com (as opposed to the self-hosted WordPress.org). I have never used Mars Edit before, so I have no idea if it is or not.
Once you’re sure that you can use it with our system, then I would ask them for help as to why your application-specific password isn’t letting you in, as it should. Please note that you should NEVER post that password anywhere (and for your safety you should go in and remove it as soon as possible from within your Settings. This is a semi-public forum, the posting of passwords isn’t safe here. You can immediately generate a new one from the same interface).
