Masking domain
-
Hi, I have built a website mysite.wordpress.com and I’d like to map mysite.com – which I own – to it. Fine till here.
But I would also like to keep mysite.com URL when user lands on it, instead of showing mysite.wordpress.it
How can I do that?Thanks!

Then masking isn’t the answer. You need to upgrade your WordPress.com site to a Personal plan or higher. Then you can correctly map your domain to the WordPress.com site. That will show the correct address to visitors and also give your domain a secure SSL connection.

Yes, upgrading is the plan.
But I am not transferring the domain. I just want to make sure that mapping it to the WordPress.com site will maintain the domain URL.
It is currently pointing to medium but still medium.com/Mysite will show up. -
Hi @fbnfz, once you’ve mapped your custom domain to your WordPress.com site, the domain will load your site hosted here.
That is, if you set the new custom domain as your primary one, whoever goes to mysite.com, will land on mysite.wordpress.com :)

Thanks staff-mckluskey, that’s what I want to avoid.
I assume transferring domain to wordpress would solve the problem? -
Note that it was already explained that you cannot transfer a .it domain to a WordPress.com site:
