Masonry Media Grid – multiple custom links

I’ve added the Masonry Media Grid, including a hover function which displays a ‘shop now’ button, to my homepage. I want to be able to attach a custom link to each individual ‘shop now’ button that is shown per product, but there is no option to when customising the grid. I know the other option is to add the same number of rows per column, use the ‘single image’ element and add links to each one, but when attempting this method I haven’t been able to achieve the same ‘clean’ look the media grid provides. The images are either all different heights (despite setting row to equal height) or distorted somehow (e.g really zoomed in or stretched). I’m also not knowledgeable enough to configure the zoom effect, with the darkened overlay and ‘shop now’ button when using just the single image element.
I have seen previous threads asking this question but they’re quite old now, and was wondering if there had been an recent updates or work arounds. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
