Massive blank gap before posts display on archive page
-
Hi,
Sometimes when I open http://mckinleyvalentine.com it displays. Sometimes the oldest posts (from a few years ago) display first. But not in reverse chronological order – all the ones from a few years ago (new to old), then all the recent ones (new to old). (There was a big time gap between sets of posts.)
And sometimes it displays like this: blank for ages and you have to scroll to see posts

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi!
I tried loading the page several times in different browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox Developer Edition). I managed to duplicate it once in Firefox Developer Edition (FFDE), it that tends to be buggy anyhow (though it has great tools for analysis). FFDE was unable to identify why only a partial page was delivered.Do you notice/have you had reports of it happening on mobile devices?
The images are nicely trimmed as to not be huge requiring oodles of bandwidth just to load.
Are you getting complaints from readers or, as far as you can tell, are you the only one seeing this. I cannot guarantee my one incomplete load wasn’t FFDE misbehaving since it only happened once.. Nothing seems amiss between me and WordPress:

Trace complete. You might want to try clearing the cache and cookies in your browser, in case you aren’t sure, assistance for that may be found here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/It looks like you are using the Baskerville 2 theme but i am unaware of any loading issues with it.
After all that, the answer i came up with is it shouldn’t be doing this. Try a different browser and see if it doesn’t go away. That would help us narrow it down.,

Hi, thanks for this. I haven’t had problems with Opera or on mobile, just Chrome. (It might also be because I’m not logged into WordPress on Opera).
Clearing cache and cookies did work for a short time, but it reverted back to the issue (and I can’t expect readers to clear their caches – they’ll just leave).
However I imagine readers aren’t viewing the page repeatedly in the space of a few minutes the way I do.
If this isn’t likely to be an issue that visitors will have, only me, then I’m not too worried I guess.
