massive newbie confusion
-
I purchased a wordpress.com site July 28, 2013. I bought the $99/year upgrade that includes a .com web address instead of .wordpress.com. PayPal has confirmed that the payment has been made. I intended the name of my site to be mysitename.com. Instead, it is myemailaddress.wordpress.com. Thus I have 2 issues: my site is incorrectly named, and it has a .wordpress.com extension instead of .com. I imagine this is all do to user error on my part, but I am now against a brick wall on what to do next. Can you help? Thanks, Roy

Hi there – no worries, you haven’t made any missteps yet. :)
First of all, if you would like your underlying http://roylovell3.wordpress.com/ site address to be something different, you can change it in this way:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/#instructions-for-changing-your-blog-addressThen, to register your custom domain, just go to Store->Domains in your blog’s Dashboard. There, follow these instructions to register an available domain:
