MASSIVE SPAMMING BLOCKING ACCESS TO SITE

My site contoelpeso.com is being targeted by a massive wave of SPAM. I have disabled comments to avoid more spam comments but now they keep trying to get in and this makes my site unaccessible. My VPS hosting company says that they are targeting my wordpress not the server. Is there any way I can stop them from accessing the site. I have lost about 2000 visitors in the past two days and I haven’t found a solution to this problem yet.
If you guys have any idea, please let me know.
