Master Account Password

    Hello,

    Our association law 1901 Mensa Provence has a website ‘mensaprovence.wordpress.com’ and we had access ‘admin’ with an account created at the time by the account ‘mensaprovence’. We want to move to a ‘Personal’ plan but the person who asked for it from WordPress lost the password of the ‘mensaprovence’ administration account created at the opening of the site and we do not even know who has it !

    How to find the password of the administration account ‘mensaprovence’ created at the opening of the site in order to change plan serenely?

    We aren’t able to give out any account details. You’ll need to try and recover access to the account that owns the site in question here.

    You are correct, mensaprovence.wordpress.com is owned by the mensaprovence user account. As a first step, try resetting the password.

    If that does not work, you’ll need to submit the account recovery form. See here:

    The last thing I can offer is to email the address that owns the account and ask that they transfer that ownership to someone who is actively involved with the project. This is tricky because they own the site, not any organization or group. Sites are owned by individuals. There isn’t any obligation on their end to cooperate with my suggestion.

    How, i am admin but nowhere i see how to reset the admin password of “mensaprovence” ?

    @webmastermensaprovence, being an administrator for a site does not give you access to administer another user’s account here. They could be members of other sites as well.

    If you are an administrator over their email address, you may be able to get the password reset link that way. Otherwise, please log out and use these steps to recover access to the account: http://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

    That said:

    We want to move to a ‘Personal’ plan

    As an administrator, you can add a plan to the site. You would then be the plan owner, or you could have the upgrade transferred to another site user.
