(back to one at a time.) I went to drdadvpoety.wordpress. That should just read Poetry. Remove “First blog post Posted on July 24, 2016 by drdadv This is your very first post. Remove “somewhere along the way.” (Should start with…_

    ONCE, UPON A TIME

    You cannot meet yourself

    Riding through the mountains

Of your youth, in the rain on a horse

    That leaves no hoof prints.

    Before you delete anything…

    Go to:

    https://drdadv.wordpress.com/wp-admin

That will take you to your admin dashboard where I want you to look for something.

On the left side of the screen, locate My Blogs. Click on that and tell me how many blogs you see.

  • Unknown's avatar

I am following what you’re wanting to do and do know how to correct what you have just mentioned above.

I want you to take it in by pieces, though.

Just waiting to see what you say about how many blogs you are showing under “My Blogs” as I just explained above.

  • Unknown's avatar

I see three Blog Names, Three addresses.
First: Perspective, drdadv.wordprss.com is Primary and fine as is.
Second: has no blog name, Should read Poetry (for now) address is perspectivepoetryblog.wordpress.com I WANT TO DELETE THIS BLOG TOPIC
Third: perspectivepoetryblog is the Blog Name. I want to remove the word perspective and leave only the word Poetry. the address is drdadvpoetry.wordpress.com and that is fine as is.

  • Unknown's avatar

Repeat of above, Under My Blogs I see three Blog Names and three addresses. I looked at the admin page but see nowhere to make deletions or changes as per above.

MP do you know that these links are not live; must cut and past which changes the window. R

That’s very strange. When you click on the links, they aren’t opening?

Deactivating a site can be a very difficult process to follow, but I can provide the links to you later if you would like.

    For your drdadvpoetry.wordpress.com blog.

This is how you change the site title, which you currently have set as perspectivepoetryblog and are wanting to change it to Poetry.

Go to your admin page like before… drdadvpoetry.wordpress.com/wp-admin

On the left hand sidebar, scroll until you see Appearance. Hover there, then select customize. When that opens, click on Site Identity. You should see the ability to change the site title. Once you change it, hit save and publish.

Let me know how that goes. ;)

drdadvpoetry.wordpress.com/wp-admin cut and pasted sent me to my Dashboard not the admimistrative page you sent before. You can see how frustrating this process is

  • Unknown's avatar

The dashboard (admin page) is where you need to be. From there, follow what I explained above.

Yes, I understand it’s frustrating. Eventually, once you become familiar, you will be more comfortable.

I can send you a direct link to the support documents and see if you have better luck that way. It can be a lot to read through for each thing, though.

Went to Appearance on Dashboard, then Site Identity. Replaced title with Poetry. No longer has the winter picture in masthead. Could not delete photo of seascape, could not delete “somewhere along the say.”. Could not delete: “First blog post Posted on July 24, 2016 by drdadv This is your very first post. Click the Edit link to modify or delete it, or start a new post. If you like, use this post to tell readers why you started this blog and what you plan to do with it.” Clicked on Saved, but as you can see it is still much as before unchanged.

  • Unknown's avatar

I went back to Dashboard, Posts and changed the title, but I can remove the seascape and what happened to the forest snow scene you had before.

  • Unknown's avatar

    I can’t remove seascape pic.

  • Unknown's avatar

You had this page with the seascape removed in your first post to me. Now it’s back.

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m just giving you piece by piece so I don’t overwhelm you.

I see that you have changed the site identity to poetry. ;) Yay!

    Next step…

Regarding the sea picture and this is your first post…. It says something there about editing or deleting it.

I believe the word edit is just underneath that post itself. Click there and it should give you the option to delete it. I can’t see it because it isn’t my site, it’s yours. Haha.

I have title Poetry, good. Snowsceen, good. Please tell me how to get rid of (edit out) “Posted on July 24, 2016” (listed twice), “Posted Uncategorized” and “ONCE, UPON A TIME,” no longer applicable.

Afterward, please advise where to go and how to look and and choose alternative masthead picture instead of snowsceen.

  • Unknown's avatar

Right side of drdadvpoetry page no longer has Meta, log in/out link to new posts.

  • Unknown's avatar

Awesome. You’re getting right through it!

To change the winter snow image. When on your Poetry page, click on My Sites in top left corner. From there go to Customize. Then select header image. You will see your options there. I would choose a suggested one. You just click the picture you like, then hit save and publish.

In the future, when you’re more comfortable, you can work on adding your own image if you would like.

Now looking in to removing Once upon a time where it’s showing twice. Get back with you in just a few.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Once upon a time…

I think what you did here was title it Once upon a time, then also put Once upon a time in the post where your lines of poetry are.

Click on My Sites, then Blog Posts. That will open up all your blog posts. In this case you just have one. You will see the option to edit it.

Bad news. I tried to activate the meta widget on my site and couldn’t locate it. It has been retired. Since you have it on your perspective blog, it will remain active and able to be used. However, you can’t activate that widget on new sites since it has been retired.
