Matala Theme Help

I’ve been unable to change the background image on my blog (I’m using the Matala Theme). When I’m in the customizer (AFTER I SAVE IT) everything looks just fine, but when I go to my site the entire background is this ugly urine yellow color.
Will somebody please help me? I’ve been fighting with this for two days and I feel like I’ve exhausted all options/possibilities and I’m seriously considering shutting down my site and throwing my computer out the window.

https://ygreadallover.wordpress.com/ presently has the Hemingway Rewritten theme activated. Are you still having difficulty changing the background at Customize?
You may be stuck in a trial preview of Custom Design. If so, in order to change the background image without being prompted to pay for a premium plan, you’ll have to choose “Exit the preview” at > Colors & Backgrounds. Once you change the background after exiting the preview and save the change, it will stick. Backgrounds are affected by the custom design trial option with the Hemingway Rewritten theme, but not with the Matala theme. You shouldn’t have encountered this issue with the Matala theme activated.

I had to change it over to Hemingway (and several others over the course of today), because I couldn’t get it to work correctly. I will switch back to Matala and try your suggestion. Thank you!
