matching email address with my wordpress site

  • Unknown's avatar

    My site is called deadwhenigothere.org
I’d like to have an email address that goes (email visible only to moderators and staff) and others with other names before the @. This is to market a film. I’m not sure if a blogsite allows for this or whether I have to have a website.
Can I set this up on wordpress?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you’re the director/producer/star it’s almost certainly fine. You can always ask staff via your dashboard Help button, but staff here do support independent artists publicizing and selling their wares.

Here’s how to get emails working with your domain name: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/google-apps-email/

I’ve gone onto Google and made an email address. Does this mean when I send or receive emails I do it from the Google page? It would seem so.

It also says I need to do this:
    Instructions:

    1. Copy the meta tag below, and paste it into your site’s home page. It should go in the <head> section, before the first <body> section.
    <meta name=”google-site-verification” content=”WN_jur8jbr6vXJ5URgFAB2z_Ew-wV4Xrby7bEd-i6SM” />
    Show me an example

    2. Click Verify below.

To stay verified, don’t remove the meta tag, even after verification succeeds.

Where exactly do I paste this on the WordPress site?

Apologies – it was all in your last link. Pretty complicated but I think I got there. Thanks.

Yeah, it is not intuitive. Most people just hammer their way through and give up entirely on the idea of actually understanding it. Just so long as it works.

Understanding it! Never. I’m now waiting the 48hrs for verification so hopefully it works then.

The verification of my email (email visible only to moderators and staff) at Google Apps has failed. I’ve no idea why and before I go through the whole process again, is there any potential problem?

It’s near impossible to understand the process but maybe I need to do domain mapping (whatever that is) or something else?
