mattbille.com is gone

Through some mischance I did ‘t renew http://www.mattbille.com, and DropCatch picked it up and resold it an anonymized buyer. Two urgent questions 1. Does the website content still exist? 2. Do you have suggestions for retrieving the domain?
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. Perhaps you can copy/paste some content cached at the Wayback Machine https://web.archive.org/web/20220130234009/https://www.mattbille.com/
2. Perhaps whoever bought it will sell it back to you at an inflated price.
If no one buys it or uses it then the domain “might” become available for you to purchase in a years time but I wouldn’t hold your breath.
3. It is a dangerous thing to let a domain lapse (especially when it is your own name) as who knows what pornography/illegal stuff could appear if people google your name in the future. -
Thank you. There’s almost nothing on Wayback and the new purchaser is anonymized. This will not be fun :)

When you let a domain expire, you ate literally saying you don’t need it anymore. There is no legal way to claim that domain.

Hi there,
According to historic DNS data at https://securitytrails.com/domain/mattbille.com/history/ns, you were using that domain with a site at Wix.com from 2016 until the domain recently expired, so your content likely still exists on Wix’s servers. But you’ll need to contact them directly to ask about that.
As for the domain, short of trying to buy it from the current owner (which comes with a very real risk of them defrauding you) there’s nothing you can do. They own the domain now, and will continue owning it as long as they continue renewing it.
