Mature content and affiliate links
-
Hi there. Is it legal on WordPress.com to add affiliate links to typical sex-shops on a blog with adult content (no porn, but articles concerning sex)? I’ve just read their Support on ‘Mature Content’ and I’m really not sure. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Michal,
TimeThief is right. While you can have a blog on WordPress.com with adult content we don’t allow advertising or affiliate links to pornographic sites. Your best bet would be to get a self-hosted site instead. Alternatively if the goal is to earn revenue from your site then you can apply to join our advertising program – https://wordads.co.

Hi Rachel,
Thanks for your response. Wordads could be nice diversification from AdSense and it’s worth considering :)
Anyway, due to your Support site: “We have a feature called WordAds that lets WordPress.com bloggers with moderate to high traffic and appropriate content turn on ads (…)” Would mature content be “appropriate” (and I’m almost sure it’s not) and what does it exactly mean “moderate traffic” (based on hits I suppose).
Thanks again,
Best regards,
Michal -
Hi Michal,
Would mature content be “appropriate”
It’s hard to say for sure without seeing the site. I can’t see any content here – https://antygazeta.wordpress.com – but if you’ve got an example online then I could check with the WordAds team.
and what does it exactly mean “moderate traffic” (based on hits I suppose).
Yes, this is based on views per month. There isn’t a golden number you would have to reach because it depends a bit on the type of traffic. But we have some good tips on how to boost your traffic here:

Hi Rachel,
Alrighty then ;) It looks like it would be a pretty good idea to add few typical posts (on the next blog on my account, the one with more appropriate title) and then I’ll apply for WordAds team approval.
Thank you so much :)
Best regards,
Michal
