'Mature' status permanent?

  • Unknown's avatar

Just wondering if it’s possible to have a site once flagged as ‘mature’ restored to regular status if user edits previous posts to become more family-friendly.

Though when posting I never considered that any of my content could have crossed the line (I’m waiting to find out if I have in fact been marked as such) I have taken another look and done some editing since seeming to disappear from the tags listings.

Anyway, primarily curious as to whether or not mature is a permanent status once issued.

    Appreciate any advice/shared experience.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have no experience with the mature marking, but I can think of no reason why it could not be changed. You will need to work with the staff on the change as they are the ones that set the status of your blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

    Thanks for the response, auxclass.

I actually emailed yesterday to check my status and suspect it will take a little while longer for a response, but the question regarding permanency was more one of curiosity… would be unfortunate (though I suspect unlikely) if unintentionally mature content restricted tag-listings indefinitely.

I think, even if the Staff would allow you to change the status of your blog. The viewers would still mark it as a not-family-friendly site. It’s easier to start a new blog, I think…

For this problem I think the way of thinking is very important. Because if ur thinking ur so mature, then ur mature but if ur thinking ur not mature, then ur not.
So it depends on you. Just ignore what others are thinking about u.

@yuri199157 “mature” in this case has a very specific meaning.

blogs with adult content not suitable for general audiences

I took a look at the blog in question. Although I haven’t read through all of the posts, I did page back quite a ways and didn’t see anything that I thought would qualify the blog as “mature.” I will be interested to see what the resolution is, so I hope andchellelaughing posts to say whether her blog had been flagged that way.

If the original posts which were judged “Mature” are still there, then staff may decline to change the status. You could make the Private to escape that. As staff if that’s necessary.

Thanks for the input everybody – the blog is again showing up in tags searches so assume that either the disappearance from tags was a glitch OR the removal of a couple of questionable posts satisfied the powers that be. Would be nice to know which of those it is for future self-editing, but at very least am glad to be back in the game.
