Maximum size of file to upload?
-
I bought the 5G space upgrade, specifically because I had a large video that I wanted to display. I spent hours yesterday trying to get the file to upload. The file is 500 meg. It appears to upload and then I get the Crunching message but that’s it. I actually left it overnight and came back this morning to see it still “crunching.”
So, obviously, there is a limitation on the size of the file that I can upload (which basically defeats the whole purpose of the space upgrade, IMHO). Would somebody please tell me what the size limit is?

One thing I forgot to mention: I have never understood why I can link offsite to to an mp3 and use the audio player but NOT link offsite and use the video player. It just seems nonsensical to me.

you could try converting the video to an FLV before trying to upload it. that should decrease the filesize substantially. (FLV is the flash format that the wordpress player will use in the end anyway)

I’ll give that a shot. In the meantime, it looks like the file did upload – although it never stopped crunching – but I haven’t had the time to review it because it appears that it is reporting that the file is 173 minutes long, when it is only 46 minutes.
