May I have more than one free blog? With different topics?

  I would like to blog about different aspects of my life – cooking, gardening, etc. Is it possible to have different pages for different categories so that people can consult PART of the blog, or should I have more than one blog…one for cooking, one for nature, etc.

  I definitely want to blog with WordPress. I already have a free blog I created for my mother. May I have other blogs associated with my email? Or, have I shot myself on the foot?

  If you want to have separate blogs for gardening and cooking, you can certainly do that. Note that your gravatar will be the same on each blog. You can sign up for as many free blogs as you want on your account.

  If you want to show different gravatars on each blog, then you will need two accounts each with its own email address and login.

  You can transfer ownership of your mother’s site to her email address. She will need to set up an account with her email first. You can, however, just continue using your email address/account.

  As for one blog with various subjects, you can do that as well. Assign garden posts to the “garden” category and cooking posts to the “cooking” category. These category pages have links to show all the posts on your blog in a specific category. You can use these links to make a custom menu so readers can choose which topic they’d like to read.
