May I have some help?

Hello boys and girls,
since I’ve started my blog I’ve been happy enough and now I’m getting a few thousand people a month I started thinking about Forums.
Now I know that I can’t have intergrated Forums unless I’m using WordPress.org which I have considered before.
What I would like to know is can I simply link to my Forums?
For example have a picture in the sidebar with the logo etc that when clicked takes you to the Forums?I just wanted to be sure that such a thing would be allowed before I went ahead and did it.
P.S Down the line I’ve considered WordPress.org so that I can start adding basic advertising from GAME etc as well as Forums and to have a bit more flexibility in my site, do you think it’s worth going to WordPress.org or actually building a site from the ground up?

A picture and a link to a forum in general is fine. Paid links and advertising is what is not allowed.

http://en.wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/Good question about advertising. I think you need to have a lot of traffic for it to be worthwhile. Don’t forget you would also need to pay the cost of web hosting. It would be nice to hear other community member experiences about it. :)

As for the Advertising, indeed you have to have decent numbers but in my view even if I get a few quid a month that’s something.
I love WordPress but it can be fairly constrictive

Honestly, even “a few quid a month” is unrealistic, given the current advertising world. You’re lucky to see a few quid every six months.
