Maywood Theme Navigation not fitting
-
Hi,
I’m using the free theme: https://thefoodiemonfood.wordpress.com
if you click the on the dropdown where blog is you’ll see that the dropdown navigation doesn’t fit.
How to fix this?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
The drop-down menu under “Blog” in your menu looks fine to me. In what way doesn’t it fit?
-
For me when I view it the drop down for “blog” that goes to 3 drop down options the “-travel” is split and doesn’t extend.
-
sorry I meant “recipes”. it goes to the next line in the dropdown. I’ve see some with the Maywood theme where they have a long drop down navigation name and it doesn’t roll to the next line.
-
I’m still not seeing anything broken or unusual in the drop-down menu. There are three drop-down menu items under the item “Blog,” and they link to the three category pages corresponding to the categories “Food,” “Travel,” and “Recipes.”
Are you saying that you’re seeing the word “Recipes” split into two menu items? Or are you saying that you intended to create a category and menu item “Travel Recipes”?
-
When you select “Blog” it drops down to 3 navigation items. On my view the “-recipes” line splits into two levels rather than being on one line.

There are suggestions at the end of the support guide I linked to earlier https://wordpress.com/support/make-a-screenshot/#sharing-your-screenshot
If you want to add the image here in the forum, you can add the image link (only JPG PNG or GIF) to your forum thread by using the image tag

Hi all,
I’m not able to reproduce this so it would be great if we could see a screenshot of what you see on your end. Also, please reply to @justjennifer’s questions about the device and screen resolution you see this on. Thanks!

Hi folks,
“-recipes” line splits into two levels rather than being on one line.
In further tests, I noticed that Google Chrome adds a dash as a bullet point to sub-menu items on the Maywood theme. So I suspect that @michelechou may have been using Google Chrome. Also, Maywood with Google Chrome I was able to reproduce what I think she may be describing at high zoom on my desktop screen. The dash and the sub-menu item appear on separate lines, like so
– sub-menu itemunder certain conditions, specifically a combination of extreme zooming with a lengthy sub-menu item. For example, the following combinations produce the effect:
1. zoom=250% or more, sub-menu item is 57 or more characters long
2. zoom=300% or more, sub-menu item is 47 or more characters long -

https://thefoodiemon.food.blog/2020/06/10/399/ here what it looks like on safari
Thanks for all the help!

Thanks for that screenshot. That is also how it looks on my iPad mini 2 in both portrait and landscape orientation, both in Firefox and Safari.
In both the above cases there is a hyphen/bullet point in front of the sub page title, which does not appear on my PC in Firefox. However, as @musicdoc1 pointed out, those bullet points/hypen do appear in Chrome on my PC.

And now that I remembered how to screenshot on the iPad, adding iPad Mini2 Safari screenshot (same thing in Firefox and regardless of orientation)

Ah, thank you both @musicdoc1 and @michelechou!
It seems that this is a known issue and it has already been reported to our developers here:https://github.com/Automattic/themes/issues/1853
There is a workaround using CSS, however, that would only be available on plans Premium or above.
