McAfee site advisor and WordPress.com
-
My site (on wordpress.com) is showing on google but with a Site Advisor question mark next to it. I started to look into getting it reviewed but fell at the first hurdle as I had no clue how to add the verification file into the root web directory. Searching the WP forums I saw that it isn’t possible to do this for wordpress.com. Whitelisting wordpress.com on site advisor was suggested as an option but not sure how to do this. I would rather not have the question mark next to my site on google but is this the price to pay for wordpress.com? Many thanks.

The one I am referring to is called Helen Foster Coaching and is public and listed on google. But still has the question mark. I didn’t want to put the full name of the blog here as then all searches will refer to this rather than the website. If you can advise about the question mark for site advisor that would be great. Many thanks.

Hi there,
There is indeed no way to add a file to the root of your site. If that is the only means which McAfee offers, then it is not something which is possible, I’m afraid. Keep in mind that the question marks are only visible to others who subscribe to McAfee Site Advisor, so it is a relatively limited audience who will see this question mark.
Sorry for the inconvenience!
