McAfee Verification
-
The McAfee SiteAdvisor verification process asks me to download the file McAfee generates then “Copy the file in the root Web directory on the Web server of the site you are claiming to own”, but I can’t find a means to do this within WordPress. The WordPress help facility has no McAfee references, and McAfee help facility has no WordPress.com references. Please advise.

Hi there,
We do not have any means by which you can verify your site using a file. As you have domain mapping with us, if you can use CNAME or some other form of DNS verification, you can verify your site in that way however.

They gave me this (edited for security). Where to I put this in my wordpress.com blog so that McAfee can verify that I am the owner?

I’m very sorry, this is not possible at WordPress.com. There are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested.
