.me domain missing

Hello,
Yesterday I bought the domain thebookshelf.me but today all I see in my dashboard is thebookshelfdotme.wordpress.com and thebookshelfdotwordpressdotcom.wordpress.com. I’m not sure where these urls came from, why there are two of them, and where my domain went. It doesn’t show up when I click on My Blogs, and when I check Domains for both of these blogs, neither show the subscriptions as being paid for an expiring.

The domain was mapped to thebookshelfwastaken.wordpress.com, but it looks like you deleted this blog.
Which blog did you want the domain to be mapped to?

The strange thing is, thebookshelf.me was not visible on my blog list before I deleted thebookshelfwastaken.wordpress.com. It was listed immediately after I purchased it, but then yesterday all I could see were the two strange urls I mentioned above (that I did not create and do not want) and the one I have since deleted.
I didn’t realize that a .me domain has to be mapped to another blog. When I created it, I opted to create a new blog and not to add this domain to an existing blog. I even made the .me address my primary one. I thought that the two of them would be separate. For some reason last night I thought deleting thebookshelfwastaken would solve this problem, but in the clear light of morning I’m not sure why I thought that.
I’ve now created k8pk.wordpress.com, so if thebookshelf.me has to be mapped to something it can be that.
