meaning of life

A couple of months ago I elected to go with substack over WordPress (and other sites, like Patreon). Am rethinking my decision and have some questions. Please have a real person answer the question, not direct me to FAQs.
1.How difficult is it for me to switch my domain name from GoDaddy to WordPress? Substack is having real troubles pulling this off. I do not have an advanced degree in computer gobblegook.
2.Can I import my subscriber list and/or content from substack?
3.Does Buy Me a Coffee work with WordPress?
4.Can I switch my primary email from this one to my earthlink one without jumping through a lot of hoops.
Thanks in advance,
Jim Sumner

Hi,
I’m a real person, but I am going to have to direct you to some links or this reply would turn into a novel in length.
How difficult is it for me to switch my domain name from GoDaddy to WordPress?
People do it all the time. But your question needs a bit more clarification. Are you looking to connect your domain with a WordPress.com site? Or also move the domain’s registration to WordPress.com (from GoDaddy)? Either are possible, but they are different processes.
This might be worth a read:

In either case, you would need to purchase a WordPress.com paid plan if you wish to use a custom domain with your WordPress.com site:

Can I import my subscriber list and/or content from substack?
Subscriber list:
WordPress.com site subscribing is opt-in, so adding followers from an email list is not possible. Your best bet is going to be something like Mailpoet. You can set it to send post notifications, newsletters, etc:
Again, this will require the Business plan as it is a plugin. We do have some other newsletter options here (along with some info on how subscriptions work on WordPress.com:

Content:
I can’t find any info on if Substack can export content in a WordPress compatible format. All I see is that they export in a CSV file. Can you talk to their support team and ask them if that is correct?
Does Buy Me a Coffee work with WordPress?
There is a Buy Me A Coffee plugin for WordPress:
In order to use plugins on WordPress.com, you’ll need the Business plan (see the pricing link above).
Can I switch my primary email from this one to my earthlink one without jumping through a lot of hoops.
I’m a little unsure what you are asking here. Do you mean that you want to switch the email associated with your WordPress.com user account to something different? If so, here are the instructions:

If you are asking about something else, and I’m just not understanding, could you explain a bit further?

Some additional news on the content importing front. This plugin will move Substack content to WordPress. However, as mentioned in my previous reply, to use a plugin you would need the Business plan:
