  Does deleting photos from my media bank delete them from the posts they are included in?

  Yes it does. Images need to stay in the Media Library to be on your site and display in your posts and pages. A free plan has 3GB space for images. You can increase that by upgrading to paid plans or you can optimise images for the web before uploading them to your site. https://en.support.wordpress.com/media/image-optimization/

  PS: Your site took a long time to load for me which suggests you have many large file size images. png images use far more space than jpgs.
